Receivers and Dongles
Wireless instruments require specific receivers/dongles to connect and are not interchangeable. This means your GH3 guitar dongle will not work with your GHWT guitar, and your RB1 drum dongle will not work with your RB1 guitar, etc.

Multi-console
Guitar Hero Live receiver
Compatible Controllers: Any Guitar Hero Live guitar except iOS, interchangeable.
Note: Other than the iOS guitar, every Guitar Hero Live guitar is cross platform, meaning that a PS4 guitar will connect to an Xbox 360 dongle (or any other combination). However, not all dongles work on PC without additional software or drivers, without which you will encounter issues such as W2 and W3 not registering, and strumming not working while pressing any fret. Please see this spreadsheet for specific information on compatibility and configuration.
Xbox
Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver
Compatible Controllers: Any 5-fret Xbox 360 Guitars and Drums from both Guitar Hero and Rock Band. NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ROCK BAND 4 OR GUITAR HERO LIVE GUITARS!
Note: This receiver is the official receiver for any Xbox 360 controller. Third party receivers will also work provided that they look the same as this one and do not come with another controller. Receivers that are not in this oval shape with a center sync button are likely not going to work. Receivers that come with a controller are typically bound only to that controller. Third party receivers may require additional configuration, please see the Third Party Receiver section of the troubleshooting page. Also be sure to read the product description carefully for any listed limitations or other notes from the manufacturer.
Xbox One Wireless Receiver
Compatible Controllers: Rock Band 4 Guitars and Drums.
Note: Third party adapters may not work and are not recommended. Will also require RB4InstrumentMapper that is properly configured according to the ReadMe (Note that the controller will only work while the app is running!). Jaguar guitars require a firmware update in order to connect to the receiver (Instructions). Some guitars/drumkits might not sync properly when using just the sync button (this includes the PDP drumkit). See Xbox One Sync Steps in troubleshooting for more info.
